Ahlyis, I'm sure it wasn't that, otherwise that yellow would be the fastest pikmin ever. It didn't go up in small segments. I think it happens when the pikmin counter glitch happens and the game tries to fix it up, or the pikmin counter glitch happened in the short period of time between when the pellet/enemy/pearl/acorn thingy gets sucked up and when the onion gives out seeds/makes more pikmin.

what is the least number of yellow pikmin you can take in to fight BLL and still have enough to time to get 299

When I fight BLL in FT, I take 13 yellows against him. No more, no less. And I have five 299's there. I leave the rest of the Pikmin against the wall and just take 13 yellows into the middle of the arena for the fight.

I usually finish getting 299 at or before the beginning of the countdown. You should be able to take fewer and still finish in time, but I wouldn't recommend less than 10.

More than anything it's the snagret in FT which annoys me. Because at this stage I'm not aiming for a perfect, but just something in, say, the 270s (based on ignoring the blue 20 pellet), I'm prepared to take a few deaths on BLL, and even on the wollywog.

But the snagret truly sucks -- not because of deaths, but because very time I go up against it, it comes up fast at least five or six times before it comes up slow. And that wastes a hell of a lot of time!

the snagret came up 7 times fast against me which was a pain because i got no deaths against BLL or the frog and i was on a fast run.

i'm trying to get better scores on FoH and DS (my 422 would have been a 434 if I had just had a little more time) but for some reason I can't kill the Spotty Bulborbs cleanly. I've been using the method shown on Mike's DS tape, but even 42 flowered Pikmin against the first bulborb doesn't often make it.

dont put all of them on at ones when using the c-stick because it will shake them off put half of them on and when it shakes them off put the rest one this can usually get a clean kill

This was a rare run-only one death. First frog I killed gave me a MD and it was clean the rest of the way. If I had a similar run I think I could add a fiery blowhog at the end or 5 pellet in the middle by moving some dwarves to the end. Nice to finally break through after being stuck on 574 for weeks.

DistantSpring54, in FoH, try getting the two dwarf bulborbs behind the blue onion when you have 42 pikmin. You should have 50 pikmin with you. This will make it safer to swarm the bulborbs(bulbears are too dangerous to swarm with 50 pikmin, so i recommend 65 or more).

look at the challenge mode faq it has an easy one for IS but IS is one of the hardest because the day goes very quick when you are playing

Congratulations Rogue, glad to see you have finally broken your record and equalled ferrets score. A run with one death is a very rare thing indeed, but it seems all the effort is worth it after getting a run like this.

I must have messed up with my totaling calculations. My new score (after DS 375) is 1538. All scores are in sig now, not just total; however it no longer includes the dates/times.

I would be happy with this score, except that I had a red 20 and a blue 5 both under their onions, in the process of being sucked up. Two seconds more and I would have had a 470... @#^!%&!

Well, I missed those two pellets, as well as another blue 5, a yellow 5, and I misfiled a non-blue 5 from the breadbug.

Yay!! I finally did it right!!

All of the wollywog pellets were red and yellow except for 1 that was near a clamclamp. Mamuta came in on time. the 3rd pearl didnt make it for some reason....

Damn. Definitely my best run yet. Not only did I get two blue fives from the breadbug, but I was pretty much on schedule with the target times throughout the run.

Unfortunately, I got nervous near the end and made damn stupid mistakes. The time this cost me kept my last two pellets (2 fives) from making it in, although they were both within the onions area when the day ended.

The other 20 points I lost was because, there was a part in the run where I was waiting for a 20 pellet to get delivered so that I could call those pikmin and then head out to do stuff. Unfortunately, I called my pikmin off the 20 a second before it would have been delivered, so it just lay there. I decided not to try and deal with it then and hoped I would be able to squeeze it in at the end of the run. No such luck.

So, without those mistakes, this would've been a 481, which suggests that I unknowingly misfiled a 1-pellet somewhere. In that case, it's probably best that it happened like this, since the frustration of missing a 482 by a single point would be way too much to bear.

Hello everyone. I've had this game for a few months, I played it for a few weeks and got tired of it. Well, I went back to it yesterday and started getting into challenge mode, and now I'm hooked. You can expect to see me on here A LOT now, as I intend to make this the next game I try to master. So anyway, here are my scores so far, along with how many times I've attempted them:

The Forest of Hope: 353 pikmin, 10 tries
Forest Navel: 125 pikmin, 1 try

Thanks DistantSpring54, I know my scores must be laughable to you guys, but you all have a year and a half head start on me, or rather I'm a year and a half behind. It will take me some time, but I'll try to catch up. I'm in this for the long haul.

Anyway, I've spent another 2 1/2 hours playing, and here's my updated scores:

Impact Site:.............191 pikmin, 5 tries
The Forest of Hope:.383 pikmin, 11 tries
Forest Navel:...........196 pikmin, 5 tries
Distant Spring:.........232 pikmin, 3 tries
Final Trial:...............174 pikmin, 2 tries
TOTAL:....................1176 pikmin, 26 tries

It should be noted, however, that I am not using any FAQ; I'm doing this on my own. I'm not sure how much this will affect my rating, but it's notable.

I usually only work 1 level at a time. For instance, I'll go after a 400 on forest of hope (which I achieved earlier) before I try to improve DS or FT or something like that.

By the way, I was not rating your scores based on a FAQ. I did not use FAQs for any of my trials unless Mikepharvey's DS 620 video counts as a FAQ.

Another day, another list of drastically improved scores for me! I'm especially impressed with my score on FoH. I've still got a lot of work to do.

Man, DS is a killer. After I achieved my high score, MD rates were soring off the charts. I got 9 MDs from 1 freaking Wollywog! I aslo got 11 fron Puffstool. Before I got my high score I barly had any MDs. It's going to be a long time before I reach 500+.
