Rock, I don't necessarily think odd's lying. He probably just confused the Impact Site as it is in the main game with the Challenge Mode Impact Site. Impact Site does indeed contain two pearls in the main game, and I'm sure it's possible to achieve a "score" of 266 or better if you went back to Impact Site with the goal of growing as many critters as you could.

Odd, this topic is dedicated to Challenge Mode high scores. Challenge Mode Impact Site differs from the IS in the main game in several ways. The only enemies in Challenge Mode IS are the harmless breadbug and the pesky flint beetle, and there are no pearls (or clamclamps for that matter). The highest possible score without hitting the flint beetle is 264. The highest achieved score is Snapdragon's 273.

I just got 333 in Forest Navel...heh, I'm climbing closer to the record. But I'll be back in a week, I'm lending this game to a friend.

Great job on IS, top! I'm glad to see everyone's still competing. Though it makes me feel guilty for not having tried Forest Navel yet. :)

264.

Woohoo! Congrats! Damn you! :)

Man, it must be sweet. It's starting to feel like it's going to take me the rest of the friggin' year to get there. But I will!

Tried a new method last night that might hold some promise: clear out the back/flamespout area before going for the 20s, and leave the three 5's by the yellow onion and the flowers by the red 20 for after the 20s run. Wondering if leaving the last stuff closer to the onions will give me the timing boost I seem to need.

Any tips for those of us still struggling?

I haven't tried that much, and I'm not that good, but for the record...

Well Snapdragon, after viewing your video of 273, I have to say I'm impressed. It looked so sloppy but yet you did it, watching it gave me some ideas but only after I achieved my highest score to day of 265. I did not make this up, I have only been play impact site since I got the game, which is about a month, and not until I get the 273 or if its even possible to get more than that, will I stop and move on. It took me one try on my break, by friend Nathan who has posted on the topic also had 263, I beat it by 2.

I color coded every pellet and got every single one besides the breadbug. Though I am not sure, I do believe I got 265 by at least getting 1 blue from the bug, but I am not sure, it was such a rush I had no idea what was going on at the end of the run. Basically how I did this will be listed in a series of steps.

I start off by getting all three reds. I throw one on a blue flower and go straight to the pillbug. I switch to the birds eye view, and from there hit him once, attack two red to him and get the red by the blue base. After that I go and get the blue guys and get three blue pellets and then go straight for the yellows. I get the yellow flowers first and by that time they usually get back to the base in order for me to get the yellow on the hill, by the group of 5's and by the red base. Following that I go to the red base to pick up the single red surrounding it, and the proceed back to the blue base. I then throw 1 blue on the remaining blue pellet by the flowers, then pick 3 more guys and get the blue 5 by the reds.

By the time the yellows have picked up all the singles, you have 15 and I get the yellow 5 by the group of 5's and then get the yellow 5 by the reds. Pick a few more red (about 15) and get a few more blues I have 5 yellow guys left and then lead them over to the blue base (red blue and yellow) separate them and take yellow and red mountain. I use the blues to get the 5 and the three flowers and the blue by yellow mountain. I then take the yellows and get the yellow 5 there. after this is done, I go back to the blue base where the red I left are, and grab them, and take red mountain. Also grabbing the red from yellow mountain before I finish.

I go back to the base and pick a few more of each color and speed up the remaining pellets coming back to base, then I go take the 10 hill. I have about 45 to 50 guys and hold up on the C-Stick and rapidly press the throw button. ( This really works well, they fly) I take the tens, and the few red and blues that fall are good cause then I take those and get the rest of the group of 5's being red and blue only now. then on my way to doing that, I take 10 yellows and throw them on the box. They all come back, I pick the rest and prepare for the Log. I had about 28 reds, 32 yellow, and the rest blue, I don't know if this adds up but its a ballpark figure. I cut the flowers at the base of the hill and make them blue, since I have the most of those, and get that single yellow too. I DO NOT GET THE BUG YET!

Posted by Jimithingr - 2/20/2002 11:45:51 AM

Then I grab my guys go in the box and get the bombs, lead them up separate, and blow the way down. I get the yellow 20 first, then the red, and then I go for the blue 20. I use 5 and 5 to get the yellow 5 and blue 5 and the red 1, and lead them to the bank. Call them back, and use the blues to get that other single blue in the water, and take the rest back to log with all the pellets scattered. I then go and get all the reds then yellow, after I do the blue, since they are in my command at the time of going back. then go for the flowers, depending on which color I have most of I turn them that, and pick up all those. get the yellow 5 on the bank, and the single pellets. This covers all the pellets in the level. Its very systematic, and has to be done almost flawless to get back with enough time. Then I grab my blues who are back at the base and go for the bug. I ran out of time here but this is how I achieved the 265. Like I said I think that I got 1 blue pellet back to base before time ran out from the bug, but I am not sure.

Anyway hope this helps some of you, I plan on continuing the Impact Site and going to try to tie Snapdragons amazing run. Good luck everyone, this is the best level in the game in my opinion, for the first level, its pretty damn hard. But well worth the time.

Posted by TomatoMan - 2/20/2002 4:46:42 PM

GAH!!!

261!!!

I knew I was on a good rhythm early on, and managed to crank it all out. For the first time, every pellet retrieved and back, and had 4 ticks left on the clock when the last one hit. I don't know what I did wrong! Obviously a few 1s went to the wrong place, but I thought I had them all nailed.

My previous best had been 245, and my top 5 were 245,244,242,242,240, so the 261 is a big jump for me.

So now I know it's really possible! I WILL NOT REST!!!

:P

Posted by Nathan Ian Bowers - 2/21/2002 5:55:52 PM

Two days ago my friend JimiThingR beat my score of 263 by two points to put himself in second place behing the immortal SnapDragon. I was displeased with this turn of events. So I quickly went to work and scored my own 265, thereby achieving a 50% share of second place (my rightful property). It was a very good and very organized run, but two things pissed me off during it:

(1) Toward the end of my run I was returning to the onion area from a successful trip to the waterhole. I got to that last red one pellet at the edge of the cliff and threw a red pikmin onto it. Then I dropped down the two ledges. From behind me I heard a sigh and I knew exactly what had happened. I turned around to look and sure enough, my red pikmin had given up on the one pellet because it was too close to the wall. Would've put me at 267.

(2) I shook that last error off and headed to "yellow mountain" over by the yellow onion. I had saved it for last due to its proximity to the base. I quickly filed my guys and threw a blue onto one of the blue one pellets....but I accidentally threw a red pikmin after him. The two did not work well together and they took the blue pellet to the red onion. I did not have time to stop them. So I would have had 268 had it not been for these two grave errors.

Interesting techniques: I devised two interesting ideas during my run that worked out well. First of all, I cleared everything in the main area except for "yellow mountain" and its surrounding flowers and one-pellets. I saved those for last. Secondly, When I moved the box I cleared all the flowers and pellets in the area, attacked the bug, and had my reds carry the 20 back to the base. Once all this was finished, I went back to the base to pick my remaining sprouts before heading onto the log. I was able to put about 20 reds back into their onion and replace them with all blues since I no longer needed the red 20.

As for the bug, I think that the blue 5 and blue 1 pellets I got from it went to the wrong onions. This is the only way my projected score of 268 could have happened. The bug has that tendency to cause complete chaos in a short period of time. Anyway, I hope to take sole possession of second place soon.

Well, I just posted that last message earlier this afternoon. Then I went out to my favorite bar and drank a couple pitchers of Honey Brown with my friend Kelly. I came home at 2:30 a.m. and decided to play some more Pikmin since I felt remarkably sober. On my first attempt I pulled off a 269 using the technique I described above. I filed everything perfectly and only missed two pellets: one of the red one-pellets up by "yellow mountain" and one of the blue one-pellets from the bug. The bug ran all the way up onto the log and I wasn't able to hit him enough to get that extra pellet. I was inches away from a 271 but my red 1-pellet didn't quite make it to the center of the onion before time expired. But I am reasonably confident that I can tie Snap's perfect game if I keep working. However, if I manage to tie Snap I will still humble myself before him since he took much less time to achieve perfection.

Sorry guys, but I have to post my third message in a row. But I do so with (almost) the greatest of joy. Sooooo bittersweet! Snap, I'm two away from matching you on the Impact Site. I just put together a 271 in which the only pellet that I missed was one of the blue one pellets from the flint beetle. He burrowed into the ground before I could hit him the extra time I needed to. Anyway, I know it's not great proof like Snap's video but I have a screen shot of my Impact Site scoreboard posted on my webpage. It is located at:

I just need to get that last pellet and I can finally relax and move on to other levels. Hope I haven't annoyed you guys by filling a page with posts!

Wow, congrats Nathan!

So the top scores on IS are:

273: Snap
271: Nathan
266: ?

(didn't someone do a 266?)

I've definitely turned a corner on IS, I've done a few more in the 250s, and I can see that a 264 is doable. When I do a 264 (or 266 or 271)... then I'll turn my attention to the next one. What is it again? :P

Not so fast, Tomato! I finally can rest my weary head after staying up all night honing my skills. A screenshot of my Impact Site scoreboard featuring a brand-spankin' new 273 is available for public viewing at my homepage. I don't think I need to explain the details of the run, because perfection requires no explanation in Pikmin. Once again, the address for skeptics to view the score is:

http://www.geocities.com/lennonsapprentice"

I even taped a napkin with my name on it to the screen. Thank God I'm done with Impact Site! Now I can move on with my life.....or actually just move on to the other levels. Once again, my mad props go out to SnapDragon without whose inspiration I would not have found the motivation to take care of business (I sound like some dork thanking God at an award ceremony, heh). Ferret, I hope to take up your challenge soon.

I am confident that there is no possible way to score better than 273. I just did a test run in which I hit the flint beetle perfectly. Every time you hit him, he flips over and during this time it is useless to hit him more. So once he gets up and scurries, you hit him again and he flips back over. I hit him perfectly after each time he got back up and ended up with only 2 one-pellets and one 5-pellet. If anyone can prove that there is any possible way to get more out of him in Impact Site challenge mode, please post a message. Incidentally, I scored a 266 in my "test run" and it almost turned into another 273.

Well, I'm an official maniac now. This is like my eightieth post in the last 36 hours. After managing a 266 on that "test run" I described above, I decided to tape some runs. On my third taped run I got a flawless 273 using the fool-proof technique I devised. We shall call it the "Damn, You Play Way Too Much Pikmin, Nathan" technique and anyone who is curious about it can message me on AOL IM (screen name = OnTheContrary). In fact, the run was so good and so methodical that when the Pikmin meter reached 273 the countdown hadn't even begun. I had about 15 seconds to spare. It's funny, my heart doesn't even race anymore at the end of a great run. I think my mastery of this level can only be described as.......PATHETIC. Anyway, my scoreboard for Impact Site now looks like this:

(1) 273
(2) 273
(3) 271
(4) 271
(5) 269

If anyone can tell me what I need to do to transfer the tape onto my computer, PLEASE share your knowledge. Anyway, I hope this is my last post for a while.

Nathan,

I'd love to hear about your technique, and I'd love to see your counter-less 273, although I just can't imagine how you did it.

And hey, sod the proles... you can never play too much pikmin. True mastery is a beautiful thing, don't apologize for it.

I have to set up a machine for video input - do you have any capacity to dupe a videotape? I'll have to see if one of my old macs has a video-in card. I think that 273 needs to be captured somehow.

Congrats again - 250s are still hard for me, although I studied Snap's 273 again and will make a few adjustments and try some more tomorrow. 261 is still my best.

Posted by SnapDragon - 2/23/2002 2:52:16 AM

Wow, great job, Nathan! You've achieved the ultimate IS score at last. That must be a relief! I find it very interesting that you don't think the Flint Beetle spews out any more pellets. Have you counted how many times you hit it? The most I've hit it in Impact Site Challenge Mode was 7 times, but in the real game Flint Beetles spit out another pellet after you hit them 8 times. If you've hit it 8 times without getting anything, then I think I'll believe that 273 is a perfect score. That will make me happy. :)

Once again, well done!

Posted by Nathan Ian Bowers - 2/23/2002 3:05:03 AM

Thanks, Tomato and Snap! Ferret has been helping me with my video queries so I hope to purchase a TV tuner card tomorrow and get that video posted. By the way, I'm still trying to solve the riddle of the flint beetle (worse that that of the Sphinx for Oedipus by far) and I just got a 272. So my lowest score is now 271. Just like Snap, I've only managed to hit the beetle 7 times in challenge mode. The problem is that the 6th and 7th times I hit him he spurts out nectar all over and my Pikmin run to it like Pavlov's dogs to the chime of a bell. This causes all kinds of confusion. Anyway, I'll keep on crackin'.

Posted by TomatoMan - 2/23/2002 10:17:20 AM

Hey Nathan, a couple of questions.

1. Do you flower your pikmin? And if so, do flowered pikmin rush to the nectar that the beetle drops? I can't remember, but if they don't, maybe flowering them beforehand would help.

2. Do you go after the beetle before the big log run? Can you make him re-appear later? If you've finished everything and the clock hasn't started yet, maybe you'd have a few more moments to pound him more and see if he drops anything else. Guess you'd have to leave him to the end, though.

Glad to hear you're going to try to get the 273 posted, I can't wait to see it!

Snap - are you still playing, or have you moved on to other things? :)

Posted by Nathan Ian Bowers - 2/23/2002 3:51:34 PM

Tomato, I do not flower my guys before attacking the beetle. He gives you so much nectar that attacking him automatically flowers your guys. And flowering my guys ahead of time is out of the question. I need every second I can get. I attack the bug before I go to the log. Usually when I am entering the area with the bug it is halftime. I always have about 60-70 Pikmin (about 30 reds) and I first clear out the stray one-pellets and pellet posies. Then while they are moving the ones I shake the bush and take care of the bug. When I am done with him (usually about 20-25 seconds) I assign my blues to the pellets he drop and put my reds on the 20 and that oe-pellet up on the ledge (you can hit it from below). I take the rest of my guys to the entrance to the main area and let them go idle there so that they help carry the 20 once it reaches them. While I wait I pick the rest of my guys and once the 20 makes it to the onion I collect everyone and put all my reds away except 12. I replace them with blue so that I usually have 45-50 blues and am guaranteed to have plenty for the waterhole. This works remarkably well and once I am on the log it is usually around the 3/4 day mark and most of my army is flowered from the fight with the bug. Plus, I am able to consistenly get all 100 Pikmin up the box without losing any. Practice makes perfect and it's just a matter of good C-stick control. By the way, once the flint beetle burrows back into the ground he is gone for good. And saving him for last is never successful. You need to work him into your routine. Anyway, I hope that some of this info helps you out, Tomato. I'll try to get that video for you soon.

Hey guys,

It's been a while since my last post, so I guess I've got some catching up to do. First of all, regarding the previous post by redpichead, that's my kid, in case any of you all were wondering why he's listing my high scores along with his. Will have to work with him on his spelling (I'm sure he'll be thrilled).

Tomato, sorry I haven't gotten back to you, but I guess your request for "tips" is moot now. Anyone who can score a 261 is not "struggling" in my book. It was a pretty awesome jump from your previous high. I know the (great) feeling. I did something similar in FOH, when I recently bettered my previous high by almost 30! (From 477 to 506).

Nathan, man, what an awesome job! I was checking out your posts (after post after post...), and I thought, man, this is a cool chronology, kinda like "The Making of a High Score." Interesting stuff. I'll try out some of your strategies, as mine appear to be falling woefully short. To recap, I recently pulled off a perfect sans-flint beetle 264, and then boldly declared that I was going after the bug in search of the real prize, 273. Unfortunately, I couldn't just plug the "go get the flint beetle" into my previous strategy, as it ate up so much time that I was having trouble getting to 220. But your strat is quite a bit different than what I've been doing. I'll give it a shot and report back...

Snap, how the heck do you pull off the bomb rock routine on the big boys in FOH? It seems like half the time when I throw two at a bulborb it all works fine, but the other half of the time one of the yellow guys either comes back with the rock or doesn't set it down where I want him to, resulting in a run-for-your-life scenario and bye-bye potential good run. In your 563 video, it looks like it worked to perfection for you.

Ferret, what is your current high in FN? (I don't feel like going back and eyeballing all the previous posts, sorry). Redpic might be nipping at your heels with that 334 of his... do I sound like a proud papa? Ahhhh...

As for me, pretty much taking a break on IS for the time being, after being frustrated going for that darn metallic bug! I'm mostly doing FOH now, trying to perfect the above-mentioned kill-the-big-guys-with-bomb-rocks technique. I'll give FN a whirl every now and then, and DS and FT are rare ventures for me. I have to say I laugh when I hear or read someone complain that Pikmin lacks replay value. Are you kidding??? I might just be me, but we've got 6 GC games, and Pikmin is just about the only one (ok, except for the occassional SSBM turn) that gets any play around here, and we're nowhere near done. If they only knew the insane fun that is Challenge Mode...

Posted by Ferret5317 - 2/24/2002 8:56:36 AM

The Forest Navel - 348

I have not really tried much to improve that score yet. But now that I have competition on the way I am going to go for it!

And a little tip for the competition, since I like to play fair - In the Forest Navel, those two bridges by the onions are completely useless to build. I have timed it with a stopwatch and it takes EXACTLY, if not just a tiny bit (And I mean a tiny bit) less time to carry pellets up the bridges than it does to carry them all the way around. Watch the paths they take and you'll see what I mean.

And another tip, one which I have not tried yet: The gate down where the Beady Long legs normally hides in the main game is actually a BAD thing to break down... The Pikmin carry pellets slightly into that area and back out again before continuing along their paths. I am going to try to save that for last on one run to optimize my carrying strategy. And I have noticed many times that while carrying many large pellets, Pikmin will form a "roadblock" of a sort, right where that gate was.

Well, good luck and thanks for playing! heh

Thanks for the advice ferret. I'll try using this new info to the best of my abilities. Since you gave me some tips I'll let you on on a little secret I discovered about Forest Navel.

Tip: Where you first start up, to the left there's the red 1, the blue 10, yellow 10, yellow 5, and blue five near the water. Well over the edge next to the blue 5 there's a red 20 on the ground. If you throw 20 blues over the edge they'll take it while you complete other thing's. Catch the red 20 and switch your pikmin. Hopefully you didn't know that and your score will turn out to be 368. Mine is 335.

Good Luck!

Hey ferret I just scored a 340 in Forest Navel. There was a red 20 about to be sucked up but time ran out.

Watch out!

Wow, that's awesome... But actually, the same thing happened to me on my 348 run. There was a red 20 about 2 seconds away from reaching the onion. I was quite upset. Anyhow, I'm not sure if you noticed this or not, but your last post makes me curious... Was the red 20 actually IN the light undere the onion at day's end? Because if it was, then you got credit for it... You always get credit for anything that reaches the light under the onion. In other words, if the Pikmin let go of it then it was added to your total score. I'm just curious.

And thanks for the tip. I'm going to try to work that into my strategy and see what happens

Whoops, looks like you have a problem, redpichead :)
Forest Navel - 355, and gradually creeping up from there... Your red 20 idea encouraged me to retry my original strat for this level which got my first high score of 324...

So, the first time I tried I got 352. I tried again and got 355. BOTH times I had major screw-ups... (I haven't played Pikmin much at all lately, a little rusty) So, by the end of the night I should have a really good score for ya. And I will be wishing you LOTS of luck... *wink*

The Forest Navel - 377!!! I really outdid myself this time. That is exactly five more points than I previously thought was possible. And I know I could have gotten more, I lost three Pikmin to the Pearly ClampClamp so essentially, I got a total of 380 on this run! Wow, I'm beat... G'nite

WOW!! Thats awesome Ferret 377. Jeez! Yah think you can lighten up a little. Im still on 240! I think I'll go for the pearl. By the way the red 20 was on the edge of being sucked up. Well keep tryin cause I am and good luck. Oh by the way, do you know what the top three standings are in challenge mode. I currently have:

Impact Site-?
{don't know because topotheclass has all five}

Forest of Hope-472

Forest Navel-340

Distant Spring-425

Final Trial-207

redpichead, I owe my score to YOU! If it wasn't for the fact that you came close to my score, I would not have tried. I'm SO glad that I have some competition again! And the idea with the red pellet below is the reason I repeated my original strategy. So, it was you who helped me achieve that score. (But I did all the work, so phooey) hehe

Please keep trying and hopefully you will come close to my new score :)

Anybody else out there besides Ferret and Redpic? It's like they're having a little private conversation here.

I'm still stuck on 506 on FOH. However, I've made some slight changes to my strat, and now I'm consistently scoring in the high 400s with some more big points on the way but just a bit too late. If I can just tweak it a little, or just go a little faster, I know I can get in the 520s or even 530s. Anybody else out there playing FOH? Nathan, you are an Impact Site demigod. Having achieved IS perfection, I think it's time you moved on to level two...

BTW Ferret, man, awesome job on FN. It's still a challenge for me to break 300 on that level, and 317 is still my high, although I really don't play it that much. You've managed to distance yourself quite a bit from redpichead, but don't relax too much. He'll be back on your heels quick enough.

I'm out here... been swamped with Real Life.

All this conversation about the Other Levels is enjoyable, but I won't turn my attention elsewhere until I conquer IS. That 261 remains my best, I'm still mucking with timing. I got a 240-ish score getting the red 20 in a separate run, so there may be something to that. :) I'll definitely be playing more this week.

I have just done a thorough examination of all 25 pages of Challenge Mode scores and have compiled a list of the top 5 gamers for each level (as it currently stands). Here they are:

Impact Site:
1. 273 (SnapDragon)
1. 273 (Nathan Ian Bowers)
3. 265 (JimiThingR)
4. 264 (topotheclass)
5. 261 (TomatoMan)

Forest of Hope:
1. 563 (SnapDragon)
2. 506 (topotheclass)
3. 501 (spenser)
4. 472 (redpichead)
5. 410 (msword11)

Forest Navel:
1. 377 (Ferret 5317)
2. 335 (shortyschlosser)
3. 334 (redpichead)
4. 333 (PatrickSim)
5. 317 (topotheclass)

Distant Spring:
1. 516 (SnapDragon)
2. 397 (yoshifan18)
3. 348 (Ferret5317)
4. 204 (cubehead100)
5. 201 (PokeTrainerAlex)

Final Trial
1. 299 (SnapDragon)
2. 232 (Ferret5317)
3. 217 (RockMFR)
4. 208 (redpichead)
5. 202 (yoshifan18)

I excluded Monkey9's reported score of 534 in the Distant Spring because (a) it is his only post under this subject so it holds little credibility and (b) it is an outrageous score that requires at least some description, which he did not provide. Also, I reluctantly included spenser's 501 in the Forest of Hope despite its sharing some of the same sketchy characteristics as Monkey9's claim. Unfortunately, I myself only made the list once (Impact Site). This is going to have to change very soon. *Wrings hands* Currently I am analyzing the Forest Navel in an attempt to assassinate my new friend Ferret. Hope this list boosts morale around here. This board should never die. Bump it, everyone!

Forest Navel - 329

Sorry, topotheclass. I just booted you off the Forest Navel in my brand new Top Fives list. I'm starting to get the hang of the level. I had a bunch of pellets en route at the end of my run and was very sloppy after completing my run to the clam area. I had about a minute and a half remaining and for some reason I stood around the onions panicking, wondering where to go to use up the rest of the time as the big pellets were being delivered. Oh well, at least I'm making serious progress now. Holy poop! It's snowing like a madman outside! Pikmin is so distracting!

Forest Navel - 343

I have placed myself in second for this level behind Ferret. My problem with drowning Pikmin due to sloppiness has all but vanished, as has my tendency to treat the clam to a Pikmin Happy Meal. Add to this the fact that I have the level mapped out nicely in my head and I think I can be regarded as a threat. I'm trying to get my buddy JimiThingR to start playing this level (nudge nudge, wink wink) so that Ferret, redpichead, topotheclass and I will have an extra competitor. Jimi is an excellent gamer, but stubborn as a.....really.....stubborn guy (thought I was going to say "ox," didn't you?) Well, back to the game.

Wow, Nathan... You caught up FAST. It's almost frightening, however I do look forward to sharing strategies with you, as you obviously have a way of developing them quickly :)

Alrighty folks... Forest of Hope - 519!

On top of that, I'm beginning to see how I can begin to approach Snapdragon's magical 563. I had tons of time at the end of the run, just sitting there whistling a tune during the countdown, but unfortunately not enough time to go out and snag the remaining faraway Bulborbs. And to top it off, I had developed the bane of all gamers the world over. Yes, I'm speaking of the dreaded thumb blister! Ouuuch! So I slapped on a bandaid, and with no little trepidation gingerly picked up the 'Cube. On my second run, all bandaged up, I turned in my best run.

If I remember right, Snap got all the pellets and enemies, but lost 6 critters on his run. That would make the theoretical max on this level 569. I think I'll go for it...

Great job Nathan. Don't worry about knocking me out of a place I didn't even know I held! (Although I guess I would still be in sixth place, huh?) I will freely admit that I stink at Forest Navel, and I'm having too much fun in Forest of Hope to really give FN much thought anyway.

And I agree with you about bumping this topic. I just wish there were more of us. Gotta admit it's a bummer to see the Pikmin board slipping down the rankings. I think this is the most addicted I've been to a game since the original Super Mario Kart. (Remember?)

Forest Navel - 365

I want to be happy with this score, but I am confident that Ferret is on the verge of a breakthrough. He's a crazy man. Fear him. Anyway, I don't really have any new techniques to pontificate upon here since the level is huge and I'm still experimenting with many different ideas. So I'll spare you the terribly trite and devilishly dull details (get a load of that alliteration). Topotheclass, thanks for the kind words and keep on nipping at Snap's heels (after all, this seems to be the "Try To Defeat SnapDragon Official Website" anymore). TomatoMan, you still marooned in the real world?

By the way, I'll be updating the list whenever several significant changes occur in the standings. Right now there have already been two significant ones. Later!
